Whereas, the current government of President Rodrigo Duterte has been relentless in its systematic subjugation of dissenters through trumped-up charges, red-tagging, illegal arrests and detention, torture, unjust convictions on false political and\/or criminal charges;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whereas, there are at least 609 political prisoners among them 63 are sickly, 47 elderly and 45 are women facing life-threatening medical conditions; whereas all of them have been arrested and are jailed under trumped-up political offenses which are non-bailable including rebellion, sedition and variations thereof;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Whereas, many are also charged with criminal offenses in an effort to deny the political nature of their alleged offenses and to stigmatize them as plain criminals guilty of heinous crimes;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GABRIELA-Europe calls on the European Forum to support its campaign:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. demanding a general, unconditional and omnibus amnesty for all political prisoners in the Philippines, especially the women, the elderly and the sick among them;<\/li>
  2. calling for the immediate resumption of peace negotiations between the Philippine government and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines and other belligerent  movements to decisively address and put forward solutions to the social, economic and political roots of the ongoing and protracted armed conflict in the country.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Attendu que le gouvernement actuel du pr\u00e9sident Rodrigo Duterte a \u00e9t\u00e9 implacable dans son asservissement syst\u00e9matique des dissidents \u00e0 travers des accusations forg\u00e9es de toutes pi\u00e8ces, des \u00e9tiquettes rouges, des arrestations et d\u00e9tentions ill\u00e9gales, des condamnations injustes pour de fausses accusations politiques et \/ ou p\u00e9nales ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Consid\u00e9rant qu’il y a au moins 609 prisonniers politiques parmi lesquels 63 sont malades, 47 \u00e2g\u00e9s et 45 sont des femmes confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des probl\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 mettant leur vie en danger ; que tous ont \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9s et sont emprisonn\u00e9s pour des d\u00e9lits politiques invent\u00e9s qui ne sont pas opposables, notamment la r\u00e9bellion, la s\u00e9dition et leurs variantes ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Attendu que beaucoup sont \u00e9galement inculp\u00e9s d’infractions p\u00e9nales dans le but de nier la nature politique de leurs infractions pr\u00e9sum\u00e9es et de les stigmatiser comme de simples criminels coupables de crimes odieux ;<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    GABRIELA-Europe appelle le Forum Europ\u00e9en \u00e0 soutenir sa campagne :<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. exiger une amnistie g\u00e9n\u00e9rale, inconditionnelle et omnibus pour tous les prisonniers politiques aux Philippines, en particulier les femmes, les personnes \u00e2g\u00e9es et les malades parmi eux;<\/li>
    2. appeler \u00e0 la reprise imm\u00e9diate des n\u00e9gociations de paix entre le gouvernement philippin et le Front d\u00e9mocratique national des Philippines et d’autres mouvements bellig\u00e9rants afin d’aborder et de proposer des solutions aux racines sociales, \u00e9conomiques et politiques du conflit arm\u00e9 en cours et prolong\u00e9 dans le pays.<\/li><\/ol>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
